Wei Dong joined Michaels in January 2022 and promoted to his current role as CISO in August 2022, after a distinguished and successful career at JP Morgan Chase. He served in various roles of increased leadership and responsibility across the technology organization. His final role at that company was Executive Director, Global Head of Application and Cloud Security for JP Morgan Chase’s Consumer Loyalty Division. ​
Prior to joining the JP Morgan Chase, he was the Global DevOps/DevSecOps/QA leader for Dell EMC. Earlier in his career, he spent time at Tektronix Communications, a Danaher Corporation company, where he held a variety of positions in software development, software architecture, software product management and CTO office.​
Wei earned a Master of Science in Software Engineering from University of Texas at Dallas. He also held a Master of Science in Molecular Genetics from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Third Party Cyber Risk Management: New Tools and Technologies in Retail

Over the past three years, numerous cybersecurity incidents that have affected retail sector companies have been the result of cyber incidents at their vendors and partners – often due to factors beyond the control of the retailers, but with significant consequences to them. Given these expanding third-party cyber risks, retailers and companies in other sectors are looking for new tools and methodologies to assess potential cyber risks from their third-party vendors and partners, both in the procurement process and on an ongoing basis. This session will bring together a panel of retail cybersecurity leaders to discuss these issues and highlight new ways to address these challenges.
