Dr. Vishal Patel is the Chief Product and Technology Officer at Appriss Retail, where he leads all engineering and data functions. He oversees the development and support of the company’s product suite and drives innovation to bring new, customer-focused solutions to market. With over a decade of experience in software development and artificial intelligence, he has worked extensively across diverse technology stacks, AI/ML frameworks, and cloud providers.
Previously, Vishal served as Director of Data Science R&D at Appriss, where he led the development and deployment of applications and machine learning models across healthcare and public safety domains—supporting initiatives for Appriss Health (now Bamboo Health) and Appriss Insights (now part of Equifax).
Vishal holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, with research focused on machine learning and data integration. His work has been published in more than a dozen peer-reviewed journals and conferences. In addition to his industry leadership, he teaches a graduate-level course on Deep Learning & AI at the University of Louisville.
