Tim Garcia has over 28 years of law enforcement experience, which includes crime prevention, criminal investigations, administration, management, mentoring and budgeting. Tim was previously employed with LA County Sheriff Dept., Anaheim Police Dept., and the Riverside District Attorney Bureau of Investigations. Tim retired in 2020 at the rank of Assistant Chief.
Tim is currently the security manager at Marathon Petroleum. Marathon Petroleum, Los Angeles Refinery (LAR) is the largest oil refinery in California. Tim oversees all security operations and manages the contract guard force. He has successfully implemented numerous security advances such as the Active Shooter program, Lenel and Genetec upgrades, the guard force recognition program (Challenge Coin) and added LVT technology to enhance the overall security program at Marathon.
Tim obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri.
