Vice President of Geospatial Crime Solutions

Cap Index

Dr. Grant Drawve is Vice President of Geospatial Crime Solutions within the Research & Innovation division at CAP Index. With over 15 years of experience bridging academic research and applied practice, Dr. Drawve specializes in developing geospatial models that inform data-driven decision-making across sectors. His work emphasizes how “place matters”—leveraging spatial science to uncover patterns and risks tied to specific environments.

Prior to joining CAP Index, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Arkansas, where he led the Crime and Security Data Analytics Lab (CASDAL). There, he collaborated with criminal justice practitioners, nonprofit organizations, and local governments to operationalize research in support of violence prevention and risk mitigation. From rare events such as child maltreatment and domestic terrorism to more common property and violent crime, Dr. Drawve has designed and implemented predictive spatial models that help stakeholders understand where—and why—harm concentrates.

Stay One Step Ahead: Transforming ORC Prevention Through Strategic Location Intelligence

Organized Retail Crime (ORC) continues to evolve - so should your strategy. Join Esri and Dr. Grant Drawve from CAP Index as they explore how location intelligence is reshaping the way retailers and law enforcement approach ORC. This session highlights how geospatial data and risk modeling are being used together to move beyond reactive measures, enabling early identification of ORC patterns, localized risk evaluation, and strategic deployment of resources. Learn how combining spatial technology with crime insights empowers a more proactive and data-driven approach to retail security.
