Grant Drawve, PhD, is the Vice President of Research & Innovation at CAP Index. Grant serves as a guiding force in shaping the trajectory of CAP Index's crime forecasting methodologies and bolstering its place-based public safety strategies. CAP Index provides location-specific data, consulting services, custom analytics, and security management technology to accurately assess the risk of crime and loss across sites. CAP Index equips companies with smart and actionable data insights while simultaneously developing data-driven products and services essential for companies to create and manage robust security programs.
Prior to joining CAP Index, Grant led the Crime & Security Data Analytics Lab at the University of Arkansas and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminology. Grant earned his Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice and Master of Arts in Criminology & Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He furthered his academic pursuits by completing his PhD in Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Following his doctoral studies, Grant engaged in post-doctoral research at Rutgers University, where he held a dual appointment in the Department of Psychology and School of Criminal Justice.
