Tales from the darkside: Robbing companies from 9 to 5
For the past several years, IBM’s Chief People Hacker Stephanie “Snow” Carruthers has “robbed” companies of some of their most sensitive data. Through email, over the phone, and by physically breaking in, she has gathered large amounts of proprietary information. Yet, she has never set foot in jail. This is because companies engage her and her team at X-Force to find their security weaknesses before the bad guys do. In this presentation, Snow will recount tales of her past exploits, breaking down how these attacks are perpetrated and what makes them successful. After each tale, she will explain how companies could have stopped her and how you can, too.
