June 63:30 pm–4:15 pm
The Security Operations Center sits at the center of every digital business, always watching for adversaries and protecting business interests. Modern hackers are becoming more sophisticated and putting more pressure on SOCs to invest, evolve and compete to continue to provide their superior value to the organization. Jason O’Dell is tasked with helping protect Walmart’s global network which includes 74 banners spanning 11,500+ locations in 27 countries with over 2.3 million employees. Through training, testing, automation and technology, O’Dell’s team has created a model SOC at scale. In this session, he will provide a framework of best practices that can fit SOC needs and keep adversaries at bay - including talent and training of SOC teams, the role of automation within the ecosystem and how to leverage next-gen technologies.
