Leading in uncertain times
No one knows when crisis will strike, but how one reacts when a situation occurs can be a true testimony to leadership. On the morning to April 17, Tammie Jo Shults had no clue that the Southwest flight she was piloting would suffer deadly engine failure. Yet, seconds after the #1 engine exploded, decades of preparing for crisis came into operation. Despite deafening noise and rapid decompression inside the cabin, Shults and the team assessed the situation calmly, treated the symptoms and promptly developed a strategy to land safely.  Learn how she remained calm but focused during those harrowing moments and gather some advice on how to manage crisis when it literally seems like the sky is falling.
