Mark Stehlik


Bloomington, MN Police Department
Mark Stehlik has been with the Bloomington Police Department for 29 years, and is currently the Commander of Special Operations. As part of that assignment, he has responsibility for Police Operations at the Mall of America. The Bloomington Police Department has 13 officers assigned full time to the MOA, working in patrol, investigations and supervisory positions.
Working closely with Mall of America Security, Commander Stehlik helps manage not only routine police calls for service, but in addition security concerns that have arisen in past years related to the safety of the Mall’s guests and employees. He has overseen the installation of security measures intended to keep the mall safer.
During his tenure at Bloomington Police Department, Commander Stehlik has held assignments in Patrol, Investigations and has over 20 years of experience assigned to the Department’s SWAT Team. In that capacity he has been deployed to New Orleans and Cedar Rapids, Iowa following natural disasters, and has helped with security planning for the 2016 Ryder Cup.
