Earn Retail LP Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)

NRF PROTECT applauds those pursuing professional certifications or getting recertified in loss prevention, fraud protection or investigative interview techniques. Attendees can request a certificate of attendance for participating in the educational sessions. Certificates can be presented for the following:

  • Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) program – Loss Prevention Foundation – up to 16 CEUs
  • Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) program – International Association of Interviewers – up to six CEUs

Certificates will be available onsite in Washington, D.C. at the main Registration desk and must be signed by an NRF staff person.

2017 Educational Tracks

Customized content is designed by retail LP leaders, focused on new information and real-world best practices, and delivered by game-changing LP, asset protection, security and workplace safety experts. Check out the agenda for the 2.5 highly intensive full conference days. And, returning by popular demand, is the optional Emerging Leaders Workshop: Verbal Defense and Influence.

Full conference sessions will be organized around five tracks supporting the goal of retail and restaurant protection:

    Topics include culture of safety, diversity and innovation, interview and interrogation techniques, networks, leading teams, problem-solving skills, retaining top talent and workplace violence.
     
  3. Shrink & Fraud
    Shrinkage costs the U.S. retail industry more than $43 billion dollars.
    Topics include fraudulent returns, high shortage stores, cash handling services, internal investigations, ORC in 2016 and 2017, and worker compensation fraud.
     
  4. Technology & Innovation
    Harnessing emerging technologies keeps us one step ahead.
    Topics include emerging retail and restaurant security technologies, camera as comprehensive security, retail innovations, data privacy and vulnerabilities at store level and above.
     
  5. Safety
    Controlling or eliminating recognized hazards helps achieve acceptable workplace risks.
    Topics include slips and falls, training employees for dangerous situations, the Crime Index and prevention, and standard protocols and procedures.
